BACCIC Fosters Strategic Partnerships at High-Level Nigeria Meeting
On March 18, 2024, the Bulgarian-African Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Culture (BACCIC) facilitated a pivotal meeting between Bulgarian and Nigerian stakeholders, hosted by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). The event underscored shared ambitions to expand trade, agricultural innovation, and infrastructure collaboration between the two nations.
Key Participants and Collaborative Initiatives
The Nigerian delegation included senior representatives from the Office of the Nigerian President, the Lagos State Governor’s Office, and private sector leaders. Bulgarian participants featured prominent organizations such as:

Rodina Haskovo JSC and the Agricultural University-Plovdiv, emphasizing sustainable farming practices.
VAISMAN INVESTMENT GROUP, which contributed strategic insights on cross-border investments.
SoftUni and Orbit Lab, showcasing Bulgaria’s growing tech expertise.
A milestone moment saw Yafibr awarded a one-year complimentary BACCIC membership, symbolizing the chamber’s commitment to nurturing long-term business opportunities.

Maya Atanasova, MBA (ProStream Group) spearheaded discussions on water and energy infrastructure—a priority for African development. Her analysis emphasized scalable solutions to address resource management challenges, drawing significant interest from Nigerian delegates.

Bhubesi Holdings Joins BACCIC
Bhubesi Holdings is a forward-thinking, diversified BEE property development firm based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Known for its innovative property services, the company is driving growth across multiple sectors, with a focus on infrastructure and logistics.
Their flagship project is the transformation of the old Durban airport into a major logistical hub, set to redefine regional infrastructure and boost both local and national growth. Under the leadership of Managing Director Kwazi Mbili, who brings extensive experience in South Africa’s property development sector, this project is poised to enhance Durban’s role as a key gateway for African trade.
With Durban serving as home to Africa’s busiest port, Bhubesi Holdings’ investment in the city’s logistics infrastructure is crucial for regional economic growth. “We’re excited to explore new opportunities and contribute to South Africa’s development,” said Mbili.

We are delighted to welcome Orbit Lab as a new member of BACCIC! A leader in satellite imagery for agriculture, Orbit Lab leverages GIS, remote sensing, and advanced IT technologies to help farmers across Europe and Africa make smarter, data-driven decisions.
With over 10 successful projects in Bulgaria and Benin, Orbit Lab has supported farmers and organizations in optimizing harvest operations, improving water and pest management, enhancing crop protection, and monitoring fields with high-resolution satellite data.
By transforming satellite insights into actionable solutions, Orbit Lab is revolutionizing agriculture and driving sustainable growth in the sector.

ONDO Smart Farming Solutions Joins BACCIC
ONDO is a leader in smart farming technology, providing automation, irrigation, and climate control solutions to improve agricultural efficiency and sustainability.
ONDO has already made an impact in Africa with its recent project at Mondi South Africa. In partnership with PARAGON IYI and The Irrigation Company, ONDO successfully automated an irrigation system, helping Mondi with increased control and visibily of used resources.
By joining the Chamber, ONDO aims to expand its presence in Africa, where its solutions can support food security and sustainable farming. “We are excited to welcome ONDO to our Chamber. Their expertise in precision agriculture aligns with our mission to foster business collaboration between Bulgaria and Africa,” said Anton Samsonov.
This partnership opens new opportunities for technology exchange and agricultural modernization across the continent. The Chamber looks forward to working with ONDO to drive innovation and sustainable development in African agribusiness.
